Katadyn Water
Katadyn BeFree Water Filter (1L)
Ultralight water filter for hiking/camping. Soft flask replaces buying plastic water bottles in the wild.
Why we picked it
A soft flask with a hollow-fiber filter in the neck. Fill it from the stream and squeeze; clean water comes out the top. It weighs a couple of ounces and collapses to fist size when empty, which is why it lives in so many ultralight packs. Filtering as you go means never carrying a day's water or buying bottles at the trailhead gas station.
