Hape Toys
Hape Wooden Shape Sorter / Block Set
BambooWood
Sustainably sourced bamboo and wood toys, water-based non-toxic finishes. No plastic parts.
Why we picked it
Bamboo and wood blocks finished with water-based paint, from a German toy maker that publishes its safety testing. Wood toys take teething and the occasional flight across the room, then get handed to the next kid looking barely used. The shape sorter is the classic first puzzle, and there's no battery compartment anywhere in sight.
What it’s made of
Bamboo, wood, water-based paint. Chosen for what it’s made of, not what it’s wrapped in.
- Bamboo
- Fast-growing, renewable, and compostable at end of life.
- Wood
- Renewable and biodegradable, naturally microplastic-free.
