Why we picked it
Burgon & Ball has been forging garden tools in Sheffield since 1730, and this trowel carries the Royal Horticultural Society endorsement plus a lifetime guarantee. The blade is stainless with a sharpened edge that slides into compacted beds, and the handle is FSC hardwood that wears to fit your grip. Buy one and lose it in the compost heap; it'll turn up unrusted in spring.
